Kathryn S. Shipley

Kathryn S. Shipley, age 91, passed away on August 15, 2026 in Burleson TX. She was born on April 11, 1935 in El Paso, TX. Kathryn married the love of her life Winford “Ship” Shipley on April 16, 1976 in Kermit, TX and they celebrated 32 wonderful years together before his death in 2008.
“Kathy”, as she was known to her friends, was a very hard-working person with a big heart. She loved to make new friends and meet new people . Her children remember her extraordinary cooking skills and immaculate housekeeping. Kathy enjoyed sewing and loved to read. She deeply loved her children and raising her little dogs. Those that knew her cannot help but remember her strong-willed personality and her passionate devotion to her beliefs. 
Those left to love and cherish her memories are son: Coda Stephenson of Ft. Worth, TX; daughters: Gina Piner and husband James of Burleson, TX, and Joli Largent and husband Sammy of Chickasha, OK; step-children: Sue Bradford of Kermit, Jerri Rosch of Kermit, Bob Shipley and wife Dana of Buchannan Dam, TX; daughter in law: Lucy Eaton and husband Scott of Kermit; and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Winford “Ship” Shipley; sons: Bryan Stephenson, David Stephenson, and James Stephenson; and step children: Fred Shipley, Terrie Shipley, and Kathy Meeks; and brother: Leslie Hulse.
A graveside funeral service was held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Kermit Cemetery, officiated by Charles Troxell.
